So I woke up Saturday morning to my cats, yelling at me as they like to lie on the heat vents for warmth, and realized my vents were blowing out cold air! I called five different places. Nobody answered. I called Baehr and to my surprise Jay answered the phone- he came right over and fixed the problem. My current natural gas furnace and screechy awful air unit was roughly 30- 35 years old. We discussed replacing it and some different options. A couple days later, just like I asked, he had two guys come out they were awesome ! no pressure , three separate estimates with three different systems in three different price ranges – easy Peezy. I chose the Bosh heat pump and air handler. He sent his guys over installed it in one day. I couldn’t be happier. Natural gas prices being what they are convinced me. We’ve already seen a big decrease in our monthly bill and haven’t even had a full month with the new system yet. It’s quiet, the heat is even throughout the house. Where the last system when the heat was on it was too hot and when it was off it was too cold — I haven’t touched the thermostat since I programmed it. I highly recommend this company and this system. Looking forward to going into this next summer with cooling equipment that works properly and is efficient. It was the day after Christmas, and my furnace wasn’t working. It had failed three days earlier, but the company that usually services my system was closed for the holiday. After three cold days, I was eager to find a tech who could repair my furnace. I looked for other highly-rated companies in my area. The first one I called was also closed for the holiday, then I called Baehr Heating and Air. I left a message, and Jay Baehr got back to me right away. I told Jay what kind of unit I have and what the problem symptoms were. He knew immediately what was wrong. He told me he could come repair it the next day, but that the repair was easy. He said I could repair it myself so I wouldn’t have to wait, and offered to coach me through it. He had me send him a photo of the inside of the furnace. He soon returned the photo marked up to show the component that was causing the problem, and a text message explaining the steps needed to repair it. I followed his instructions, and the furnace fired right up. When I asked Jay how much I owed him for all his help, he would not accept any payment. My gas fireplace malfunctioned during the recent blizzard, so after the power went out, I had no heat. Jay Baehr came by and fixed my problem swiftly, so once again I had heat. Thank you, Jay Baehr!

Were it possible, I’d give Baehr Heating & Air 10 stars! Our combination heating/hot water system motor was burned out due to a power surge (PG&E) following a 2-hour power outage during the third week of February 2023, amid unprecedented low temps and blizzard conditions. The first half dozen repair services I called either didn’t return my calls at all or sent out technicians who didn’t have any knowledge of my system, suggesting instead that I needed a whole new system at a cost of $22,000 and above. When I finally found Baehr H&A, Jayson Baehr responded immediately, despite hazardous road conditions, diagnosed the “fried” motor, located a replacement motor and other needed parts in SoCal, and arranged to have them overnighted via FedEx. When they didn’t arrive, he chased all over Sacramento until he located the wayward parts, then came right out and installed the new motor, all at less than 25% of the cost of a new system. The whole system has been working like a charm every since, and I give Baehr H&A full credit. They are lifesavers!!!

I went through three previous companies (two through my home warranty company) before calling Jay at Baehr. Two of the previous companies told me I would need a whole new AC system, and one wanted to quote me for ductwork. Jay came over to give a second opinion and immediately on looking in my unit saw that the evaporator coil needed to be cleaned and that the fan speed was set to its lowest setting. After the cleaning and fan speed increase, my system is working great, it’s even keeping us comfortable on 105 degree days! No idea why no other company was able to see what the issue was but Jay saved me a ton of money and headache, and was super friendly and professional to boot. Definitely my go-to company from now on.
