Responsible for the productivity and actions of all BAEHR Heating and Air, Inc. HVAC technicians and HVAC techs in training, all while communicating with Dispatch, Warehouse, Sales, and customers daily. As the Senior HVAC Manager, you make sure that your team does its best to meet customer needs and gain trust, uphold BAEHR Heating and Air, Inc. standards and perform their job to the best of their ability.
Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
Job Skills and Requirements:
- Active and maintained HVAC contractors license within the state of California
- Nate Certified
- Maintain a clean driving record & keep a valid driver’s license
- Be absent of drug use

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Work in an office and field setting.
- Field setting may require bending, standing, climbing, hot and cold temperatures, heights, small spaces, and/or maneuvering heavy objects.
Responsibilities:
- Overall supervision and responsibility of the HVAC division.
- Actively monitor KPIs for your department.
- Be graded on a set of metrics to uphold pertaining to your department.
- Abide by and uphold BAEHR Heating and Air core values as well as Handbook policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all technicians within your division are increasing and retaining the number of company preventative maintenance customers on a daily basis.
- Review and help complete technician tickets daily in the Service Titan software.
- Create, approve and submit proposals to customers on a daily basis as they are required.
- Interview and hire prospective candidates based on a set of requirements alongside HR.
- Set ground rules and expectations for your divisions to follow.
- Follow all company guidelines outlined in the employee handbook to address any issues that arise with employees or request guidance from the General Manager.
- Know how to teach and utilize any current BAEHR Heating and Air, Inc. software that applies to your division.
- Follow company guidelines for dealing with customers and resolve problems between
coworkers and customers as they arise.
- Daily review of each employee’s performance and participation that reports to you.
- Identify performance deficiencies and develop a plan to correct deficiencies.
- Report to the General Manager weekly with a summary of your division’s performance.
Actively provide technical support and training.
- Hold biweekly 1:1 meetings with your team. This should serve as a time to remind each
- technician of goals and of the process they should be following. Meetings are also a time to ask questions and voice suggestions.
- Help HVAC technicians meet/exceed their proficiency presentations and mature within the department.
- Work with the General Manager to create a training schedule for each of your divisions to follow throughout the year.
- Provide training to employees over various subjects that are and are not necessarily outlined in the training schedule.
- Keep track of employee absences and accurately track employee time within your
department.
- Give direction on proper cleanliness of each employee’s vehicle.
- Give direction on proper company attire and cleanliness, as well as what is acceptable and unacceptable at the shop and out in public.
- Encourage each employee to work toward earning a higher position in the company.
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with all company and client personnel. BAEHR Heating and Air, Inc. has made a strong commitment to creating a teamwork atmosphere; working together with proper coordination and cooperation will help you, the company, and our customers.
- Be prepared for randomized company vehicle inspections.
- Maintain proper grooming standards.
Recruit & Train:
- Recruitment of qualified employees for your division, upon approval of the General Manager.
- Termination of employees in your division, upon approval of the General Manager.
- Enforce the BAEHR Heating and Air, Inc. Process, including wearing shoe covers, making the customer feel comfortable, and providing a menu of options.
- Provide technical development and training to your division.
- Attend training classes, when available.
- Keep your teams progressing internally using BAEHR Heating and Air, Inc. HVAC Proficiency Guidelines.
- Always keep your responsible division certified to the highest possible technical caliber.
Compensation:
- Positions will earn an annual compensation including the opportunity to receive commission bonuses and incentives.
Schedule:
- Working hours for this position are Monday-Friday 7:30-4:00pm with a 30-minute lunch
break. All managers must report to work on time, if not earlier than BAEHR Heating and Air, Inc.’s set opening hours.
- This position may be subject to work after hours when deemed necessary to fulfill the duties as the Senior HVAC Manager.
